Max and Sam Dolls

Max and Sam are non-gender specific dolls used to support children’s understanding of key ideas contained in the program.  Max and Sam use Brain Friend thinking to help them feel and behave in ways that help them achieve their goals.  Max and Sam are good friends and help each other . When either of the characters is feeling bad the other will give good brain friend advice. This helps children understand that unhelpful feelings and behaviour are made by Brain Bully.
Children enjoy learning about the think, feel, do connection through the Max and Sam dolls and how they use the Brain Friend and Brain Bully characters to act and feel in a self-helpful way.

Behaviour Management Strategies

Have a Go Spaghettio! Gives teachers and carers a framework to help children manage their own behaviour in the longer term. They learn that BF thinking and BB thinking will determine whether or not they make sensible choices.

HAVE A GO SPAGHETTIO!

When I am at my Kindy
Sometimes I think, ‘Oh no!”
Because we have tricky things to do
I say out loud
Have a go spaghettio!
When I’m doing a puzzle
And I really have to try
Brain Bully says, give in
But I shout out
Give it a try banana pie!
When I am drawing a picture
And I’m not doing my best
Brain Friend comes to help me
And whispers quietly
Do your best hairy chest!
When I am playing with my friends,
And catching the ball isn’t easy
I remember what Brain Friend said
And sing out
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
 Sometimes painting is so hard
And I don’t want to begin
A little voice inside my head
Echoes softly
Don’t give in mr chin!
So
Don’t Give in Mr Chin!
Give it a Try Banana Pie
Do Your Best, Hairy Chest
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
